It has been an honour and privilege to serve the people of Malew and Santon over the last 10 years. I believe I have made a positive impact during that time and respectfully ask for your
continued support, trust and vote on 22nd September.
The last 8 years has been the most difficult and challenging the Isle of Man has faced for many decades. With the huge £200M VAT loss per year and the banking crisis with its resulting world recession which has contributed to a significant slowdown in our local economy. I feel we have made some positive steps but unfortunately the government has failed to fully adjust to the new financial climate.
There have been many difficult decisions and also some unwelcome decisions. Some of which have not been necessary like the charges for waiting at the airport.
Continued focus has to be maintained on a positive economy with high employment and whilst trying to ensure minimal impact on our valued public services. But there is still much work to be done and that is why I wish to stand again to represent you and our Island.
It is important we do not become complacent and that we continue the drive towards a sustainable future. I believe we should prioritise the important areas of our island economy and infrastructure which this government has failed to do.
I am a strong believer in investing in our young people’s education and giving them opportunities, skills and knowledge to ensure they gain maximum advantages in life. A balanced society where enterprise is encouraged and we help, care and enable those less fortunate. It is very important we assist our citizens so they can enjoy a comfortable standard of living in their later years
I have always been easily accessible to voice your opinions and ideas, and am always willing to listen. I work diligently, honestly and fairly for you, and responding to constituent concerns will
continue to be a priority.
If re-elected I will continue to work hard in the same manner and attempt to demonstrate clear vision strong leadership for what is in the best interests for you and all the people the Isle of Man.
I would like to thank everyone for their help and support over the last 10 years, especially my wife Jacqui and sons Andrew and Ben for their support and understanding.
